Summer Reading Program was a time for library lovers to come together and do what we do best, have fun! On behalf of the Library Board of Trustees and all the employees at the Palm Springs Public Library, I would like to say a heart-felt thank you to everyone who participated as well as the organizations and businesses who helped sponsor our Summer Reading Program.
First of all, I would like to say a huge thank you to the Friends of the Palm Springs Library for their large contribution for Summer Reading Program. They contributed $5,000 to pay for our grand prizes, three Samsung Galaxy Tablets, as well as free giveaway books, and professional performers. See below for a full list of sponsors who donated merchandise, admission tickets, or gift cards.
Summer Reading Program is not just about getting cool prizes and free books; it is about giving back to our community. In June we collected supplies for the Palm Springs Animal Shelter. During the month of July, we collected school supplies for the kids who attend camp at James O. Jessie Desert Highland Unity Center. Thank you to everyone who donated!
Just because Summer Reading Program is over doesn’t mean you can’t have fun at the Library. We have a full lineup of programming scheduled to begin in September. We already have Rudy’s Radical Science scheduled for Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at 6:00 p.m.
We expect to see the Paws and Hearts Therapy dogs in the library this fall. Check our calendar of events for details as they become available. Teens are getting a NEW weekly program, Teen Time on Thursdays, from 3-5 p.m. October brings THREE author events, Mackenzie Phillips on the 5th, Ellen Hart on the 11th, and William Mann on the 18th. Stay tuned for more details!
Thank you Sponsors!
